NY Times Best Seller List!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found out!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I hit the list (albeit extended list) this week!!! I haven't seen the list, so I can't remember who I'm ahead of - the lovely folks at Random House called me, and I was working out to distract myself from knowing that the list was coming out, and thus when they called, and I was breathless and sweating and then crying and basically near hysterics - but I do remember that it was names that I never in a million years imagined I'd be in the same vicinity of.

More tomorrow. A lot more tomorrow. About how you get on the list. About what it means. About all of that.

Now? Coincidentally, I'd scheduled a massage for tonight. But life is good now. There will be no unblocking of chis for me.

And. Most importantly. THANK YOU to you guys. I've said it here before and often, but no matter how good a book is, is does NOT do well without the support of readers, friends of the author, the publisher and the author's team. I really, really, really am so grateful to all of you who helped get me there. THANK YOU!!!!!!

This is an incredible accomplishment, and very well deserved! I can only imagine how it must have felt to get that call while at the gym. Way to go.

Now, I just need to read the book. I've been holding off because I am sure that once I do pick it up, I won't put it down till I turn the final page. :)

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS Blogger unlocked your blog.

GREAT NEWS. WELL DESERVED.

And to think I read your blog! Doesn't that make me a best-seller by association -- or blogiation -- or something???

What an amazing accomplishment. Congrats to you!!

I picked "Time of My Life" as our next book club book (based on the PEOPLE magazine review), and I am half way through.
Let me tell you that the only reason I have put it down is too email you. Ok, and to pick up my kids from school.

I'm a 37 year old woman who lived in the city post college for about 10 years. Got married and moved to Wayne, NJ, when my son was 8 months old.
My kids are now 5 and 3.

The reason I'm writing is two-fold:

The first one is to tell you how much I'm enjoying your book. How honest and relatable (is that a word?) it is. How even though everyone in my book club may not fully relate to jillian, there is something - that as a mother - we can all relate to in some way, shape or form.

I've have seen from looking up the book club discussions that you have mentioned that you would be happy to answer any any questions a book club would have or discuss the issues in the book. does this mean you would do a conference call? maybe even join a certain book club for discussion and of course have some wine and cheese with a bunch of 30-somethings?

This leads me to my next question. Would you ever consider coming to a book club? (I have no idea where you live now but i'm going to assume in the tri-state area?)

Our book club meeting is set for Thursday, December 4 at 8pm. I would be so honored if you could be a part of it.

Thanks for "reviving" my reading with your fresh, fun and insightful book.

Best for success with it, and anything you do in the future.

Jennifer Tomback.

Thank you, everyone!! It has been soooo crazy!!

Jennifer- ack! Apologies. You totally emailed me a few days ago, and I've been so swamped, I haven't had a chance to get back to you. I can't make it in person, but I can call in, if you'd like. I'll email you back to coordinate if you're interested.

Thanks again, everyone!

That's great news. You made it! I knew it had potential when I saw it take off at the beginning.

Woof!

Hi Allison! Thanks so much for emailing me back. That would be AMAZING if you could call in for our book club! It would be a wonderful surprise for everyone. I hope you don't think I'm a total nut-ball!!

Not that you need to know about me at all, but i was in publishing for years before I became a mom. My last job was at PEOPLE mag, which is why I'm biased to it's book reviews. Once again, I LOVED the book and congrats on the NY TIMES BEST SELLER LIST!! What an accomplishment.

Regarding the Book Club. The meeting is on Thursday December 4. It will most likely start it at 7:30. It's will probably be about 8:30 until we really start. I will tell everyone to get here promptly, based on the surprise. I wish we could do some sort of video conferencing. i don't have anything like that though. Hm...

Anyway - let's touch base in a couple weeks. Whatever you want to say is great. Just a hello and a little bit about you and your thinking behind the book, etc. Something as simple as that and it will certainly get the discussion off to a great start. ;)

Should i just give you my direct email on your blog? or is communicating this way fine? you let me know what works for you.

Thanks again, Allison, for your quick response. I look forward to our future commuication.

Happy Halloween!

Jen

PS. did i mention that i'm so excited!?
