Q and A on Book Publishing Next Week

Q and A on Book Publishing Next Week

I know that there are a lot of aspiring novelists out there, so, as promised below, I thought I'd spend next week chatting about my road to publication, the pitfalls, the perils, the persistence. I'll spend Monday (and possibly Tuesday) explaining how I got here, and then open up the blog to questions, which I'll do my best to answer the rest of the week.

If people are interested, I can do the same the following week, only this time, I'll deal with magazine writing.

So - if you have questions about the query/agent/publishing process, mull 'em over this weekend, then check back in on Monday! I don't know if I can really be an answer guru, but I'll certainly try my best.

(And yes, I know I'm posting for Saturday a bit early, but I'm out of the city most of the day tomorrow at a 2-year old's b-day party!)

Upcoming visits to this blog: Possibly priceless

Thanks much, Allison, for being so generous with your time and knowlege. Looking forward to Monday and all of next week.

Thanks, Larramie! Well, I hope that the advice is priceless, but I'll let you decide on that. :) No, seriously, I really do believe in paying it forward, so if I can be of any help to anyone, I'm happy to! I just hope that I can be...

See you Monday! And thanks for checking back here.

YOur site looks awesome! I'm an agented, unpubbed author, but I plan to extend into mag. writing this fall to intersperse with my fiction writing. Can't wait to see what you have to say about all of it.

Okay, here's my question for mag. writing--I have a Ph.D. in education and before I quit working to be home with kids and pursue fiction writing, I taught at a major universtity, was part of research projects, and worked in countless classrooms all over the country...but my work being class-room based, I don't have publishing credits. NOw I'm looking to parlay my experience into writing--Parents, Brain Child, etc. I'm just starting to think about querying and wonder how hard is it to break into major magazines, even with credentials?

Hi Kathie-

Good question. I'll definitely answer it...either this week or next, just depending on if people want me to focus on book publishing all at once or mix up the questions/answers.

Thanks for stopping by!
