So I've finally figured out how to deal with the HTML of the blog, and so, despite a major pressing deadline, I'm busy tooling around with the site. Whee!
This is my thought of the morning: if I had to survive on one food alone, surely, it would be cereal. I adore, adore, ADORE cereal. Seriously, I mean it: I think I could live off of it. In the mornings, I have a whole system down. I layer five different cereals on top of one another - right now, I'm working Kasha Heart Healthy (which sounds nasty but is really sweet and yummy), Kix (I steal them from my son), Quaker Toasted Oatmeal, All-Bran (because I'm a health writer and know how good fiber is for the bod), and Golden Grahams (again, pilfered from my son's stash). My husband is a fan of Oreo Cookie Cereal (yes, they really do make that) and Honey Bunches of Oats, which I occasionally dabble in myself, but only when he buys the kind with strawberries or bananas.
So...if you had to survive on one food alone, what would it be? Or more importantly, am I missing out on any to-die-for cereals? (Because you know that I could spend hours lingering in the cereal aisle, so I'm always up for suggestions!)

I love fruit. Can't get enough of the stuff! Cereal? Nah, I'm not a breakfast person. ;)
Cocoa Crispies. :)
I go through phases. The worst one ever was the Pop Tart phase. Fortunately, that was short lived. Usually, it is tossed green salad. I just love fresh, crunchy veggies.
I like cereal, too. But I recently discovered the "Kentucky Bourbon Truffles" made by a wonderful chocolate magician in Wisconsin. Check out www.gailambrosius.com. I think I could survive on them. Nice blog, Allison!
I like Flax Flakes. They're not too sweet and very crunchy. I eat them with raspberries, blueberries and yogurt. Yummm.
Quite a change from the Cap'n Crunch I was denied as a kid. Can't stand the stuff now.
I blog about food. Feel free to pop in and poke about when you have time.

Another Serial Cereal Eater?!?! Woo hoo!
My favorites: Kixs, Rice Krispies, Rice Chex 9or Corn), used to love Fruity Pebbles, Cinammon Toast Crunch.... I could go on for days!
Wow, thanks everyone! I have so many great suggestions for my next trip to the store. YUM!
I'm a Golden Grahams girl, myself :)
Cereal, grape nuts. But if I had to survive on one food for a very long time - Cheez-its. I don't eat them often, but I do think I could last a good long while on them!
Welcome to blogging, Allison.
Welcome to the blogosphere.
Cereal? Raisin Nut Bran or Oatmeal Raisin Crisp. Food I would live on if I had to? Ice cream - any flavor will do, but if I only got to pick one it would be Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby (there's protein in the peanut butter, right?)

Wow, you've already got a ton of comments considering it's day two in blogworld for you. Very cool! And also to see many of my blog friends (real life and cyber life) listed on your sidebar! (Shout out to Swish, Jess and DJ!)
Cereal--I could down a box of Quaker Oatmeal Squares in two-point-two, no question. However, food of choice, one alone, definitely PIZZA! You can get practically all four food groups into it. I Luuuuuuuuv Pizza! It killed me to move from Chicago Deep Dish to New York East Coast "Pie" but now that I'm back in CHicago, I'm hankering for the East Coast style!
Great Blog!
That's easy: pizza.
I LOVE cereal - espeically Frosties, Sugar Puffs, Golden Oat Crunchies. In fact anything covered in sugar/syrup!
Great site loved it alot, will come back and visit again.

My favorite has long been Cream of Wheat. Sadly, I just found out that I'm allergic to wheat. Now what?
Anon-What about Cream of Rice? I've never tried it, but I think the concept is the same.
